Meet 19.1 BEAST from Highland Park, Dan Farber! Dan has been a member at our gym for about 9 months, and keeps learning new tricks everyday. In fact, although a member for quite some time, 19.1 was his first time doing wallballs!
Since this was his first time doing walls balls, Dan learned quickly that they can be pretty tough. According to Dan, after two rounds it was hard to string them together. However, the best part of the workout for Dan was everyone cheering and supporting each other to do their very best. In fact, it was everyone’s cheering and the energy in the room that helped Dan push himself to persist. And persist he did.
In addition to wallballs, this is also Dan’s first CrossFit Open, so he is not sure what to expect for the upcoming weeks. He is expecting high-skilled movements like handstand pushups or walks, and is excited to learn more about the scaled divisions.
To Dan, winning you life means actually LIVING his life. Dan states, “life was becoming so easy to be a bit sedentary, and I noticed how my aging body was becoming less resilient.” Dan wins his life by taking back some control, and engaging his mind and body to continue to be awake and alive.
Dan! We are so excited to see how the rest of the Open unfolds for you. We hope you find this event lives up to its hype of being super fun! Congrats, you rock!
