Every year the CrossFit Open comes around, and every year we come together as a community for an unforgettable experience. The CrossFit Open in its simplest terms, is five weeks of five workouts to share with CrossFit fanatics across the globe.
Why Should I Do The Open?
- The Open is for Anyone. The Open is the largest fitness competition on EARTH and people from around the world, all walks of life come together to push themselves during five weeks of five grueling workouts. Rx or Scaled. CrossFit affiliate or a garage. Come as you are!
- To test yourself! You show up for class every week, see how far you can go! Challenges, PRs, new skills and moments of pure happiness await!
- The Power House will be offering some AWESOME prizes! Things like private training sessions and private parties for those who participate and share their experience! Read more below on how to enter and win!
Ways to Participate:
- Every athlete, yes you, has the option to sign up online at crossfit.com. For $20 you will be added to the official CrossFit Games leaderboard, which allows you to compare your scores to people in your gym, state, country and around the world. This year you’ll even be able to create your own leaderboard, which will allow you to compare yourself to people “even more like you”—you can just search specific commonalities and find those people. As far as the workouts go, CrossFit offers a variety of scaling options, and there will be a workout that is challenging, yet accessible for you! So, if you feel like the Open is out of your league, it’s not! There is an option for you we promise! One thing to note, every workout you do will require a CrossFit Judge and all scores must be submitted online before 7p.m CST on Monday nights. If this gets your gears going, sign up at games.crossfit.com and coordinate with a coach about judging! Times we will be hosting the workouts are listed below!
- If signing up online isn’t something that interests you, but you want to do the workouts, YOU CAN AND YOU SHOULD! Commit yourself to five weeks of five workouts with all your gym BFFs! Open workouts will be released on Thursday evenings, and The Power House will run the workout on Fridays 5:30-7:00pm at St. Louis Park and at every “Workout of the Day” class on Sundays at both locations! As always, our coaches will customize the workout for you! So, come! The more people, the merrier!
Okay, So How Do I Get These Prizes?!
We want to make this as simple as possible, so here it goes…
- Be a part of the community! Show up to cheer or show up to do the workout. We want you there!
- Snap a photo of your experience, whether that is you or a friend mid burpee, a sweaty selfie, the most epic recovery meal, we want to see it!
- Tag @thepowerhousemn on Instagram or Facebook, hashtag #InTheOpen and #WinYourLife
- After all that, you’ll be placed in a “live” drawing that will take place Monday Nights! Check the Facebook Group and Instagram Stories for winners!
- Get your prize!
