The CrossFit Games are a coverage of real world application of CrossFit as well as a series of CrossFit workouts to find the fittest man, women, and team on Earth. They are a test of functional movements and CrossFit methodology. 40 men and 40 women from around the world compete in each division, which include individual, team, masters, and teens. The CrossFit Games happened last week from August 1-5 in Madison, Wisconsin. A group from The Power House were lucky to attend and watch amazing athletes from all corners of the globe come together and compete under one common passion: CrossFit.
The Games kicked off with a three day health conference. Various seminars ran every morning. We found special interest in two seminars, How the Healthcare System has Failed Us and The Epidemic of Chronic Disease: Role of Life Style Therapy, from Dr. William Davis and Dr. Axel Pflueger, respectively. The Power House was also very fortunate to talk to Greg Glassman, the founder of CrossFit Inc. and Dr. Pflueger about our work with Pipe Trades Services MN. The Power House was then invited to another health conference later this year. What an awesome moment!

After the health conference, the Games began. The CrossFit Games are very important to the fitness community. The Games bring together the global fitness community through hard work, sacrifice, sweat, and tears. They give an opportunity for athletes around the world to showcase their athleticism, technique, and skills. The fittest athletes on the planet are found, which is a true inspiration to all CrossFitters! The Games are extremely rewarding to watch as they show what can come out of this fitness journey we all travel.
Huge shout out to the 25+ crew from Highland Park and St Louis Park for going and representing The Power House. The favorite events to watch were clean and jerk speed ladder, CrossFit total, team snatch event, the battleground, and chaos.
Hoping to see The Power House represented in the CrossFit games in 2019 or 2020!
